As many of you know, for the past 3 years I have been apart of an intense search (to say the least) for a Student Pastor position that was right fit for me and the church. This time of faithfully waiting on the Lord, or the meantime as I call it has been a season of transition, preparation, ups & downs, joy & sadness, questioning – Are we there yet? and seeking the will of the Lord. This FAITH is not about me knowing the next steps but believing God has already worked out the details as I continue to press forward. This meantime is what we would call a delay. The delay is never a denial, its simply waiting for the right season so the Lord can accomplish his greatest victory in your life and others. I believe this season has finally come.
With all this being said, I am thankful to Jesus and excited to officially announce that I’ve found the church the Lord is calling me towards in this new season. I have accepted the amazing call from Gateway Church in Shelbyville, TN to become their new Student Ministries Pastor. I will be relocating to this new city in a few weeks, and anticipate the Lord doing marvelous things in and through us. This is a great & growing church with a lot of passion for Jesus and for their community. I had a chance to meet with their Lead Pastor, Jason Daughdrill and also preach to the students. From what I see, this church is growing with eager young people and adults alike wanting to awaken & make a change in their generation. It will also compliment my teaching/preaching style, gifts and passion.
As I step into this new role, I will be leading & overseeing all the ministries to 6-12th grade; recruiting & training a team of leaders (adults & student), a ministry to parents all awhile creating a Christ-centered, creative and outward-focus (generous living/service) to youth. Like with anything new, there are huge steps of faith on both parties; huge step for me to relocate to a new city and pastor at a growing church and for Gateway Church to bring in a new staff pastor to minister to their students. I would love your continued support (prayers, $$$, encouragements, etc) as we move forward with this call. This is my prayer, that God would revive his wonderful fame/deeds (Habakkuk 3:2) in us as we have an expectancy of Him in fulfilling our vision/dream. (Luke 8:40, Ephesians 3:16-20)
If you’re in a season of meantime (transition in ‘waiting’ on the Lord), let me encourage you with these scriptures that have kept the fire burning in my heart for the passions & purposes of God. I pray that these words & verses would be so branded on your heart and you come alive with more zeal for the thing God has called you towards… But more importantly, for Him!
More information soon to follow.. Stay tuned! Blessings
