Leadership

He’s Faithful

9 Dec , 2010

Wow, it’s been a while since my last blog… time really flies by when you are having fun and enjoying life. I have met so many amazing people in the last year that it is unbelievable the amount of favor God has given me. Seven (7) months ago, I entered into a journey of uncertainty when I strongly felt the Lord calling me out of the local church I have been involved with for the past 9 years (5 of which in leadership).  I was totally not prepared to step down as the Youth Director, but through the course of events (prayer, fasting, wise counsel, concerns/issues, etc.) over 3 months, it was obvious that the time was on target. Sometimes, there is just that innate feeling that the Holy Spirit releases to let you know you are on target with his Spirit.

[Fast forward to August 1st] Last official day at church and on staff/leadership… I was at peace with the decision. So, No job, no backup church or position – just a whole lot of uncertainties and 5 years of youth ministry experience. All I could really do is trust in the Lord and worship him. The funny thing is for the better part of a year, all I was preaching/teaching on was waiting on & seeking the Lord… and now I am in a situation of just doing that. Looking back over these last 4 months, I am so thankful for new & some old friends. People who ministered, encouraged, and laughed with me; just doing life together.

I can wholeheartedly say without any doubt, that I made the right decision to move forward into what the Lord was doing at that moment. Since August, I have met some of the coolest people, pastor friends, and youth/young adult ministries. I have traveled and spoken at some awesome churches/youth ministries and had the opportunity to be a part of real life change elsewhere! I’ve applied and even talked to some Pastors about open positions available within their church as a Youth Pastor or just the opportunity to speak with their youth…. It’s awesome, how my simple obedience has really opened up some many cool opportunities. I’m eager to see what the Lord has next for me and I am just taking in all he has for me in this journey/transition. (sometime, He calls us into this journey or desert place just to Allure Us Towards Love)

I am currently sitting here thanking God for all the wonderful things that has happen this year and I am constantly reminded of how faithful Jesus truly is. Through all of the ups and downs, the good and bad – he remains Faithful. My passion for young people has grown stronger and the desire to be a part of what God is doing with them is burning within me. Don’t know what the future holds. But I DO know that it’s ALL in God’s hands. And I’m perfectly okay with that. Truly Blessed 🙂 As I’m writing this blog, I’m listening to some friends of mine (Livingston) song entitled “My All.” This song simply states our need for God and to make known that he is OUR ALL!

My All – Livingston {will open a new window to play the .mp3 song}

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20 MSG
