Only for the Hungry

26 Feb , 2010

I had a vision of the sky opening up with items dropping down and hanging in place. It was as if they were waiting to be picked. Vividly I could hear a voice saying “only for the hungry.” As the items became clear, it was gifts from God. It seemed like God was releasing these gifts for his people. Then the voice said again, “only for the hungry”… I then notice one specific gift with the label Mercy. – Vision ends.

Instantly I am remind of a prayer meeting with students 1 ½ years ago, where we were weeping and travailing for this generation that Mercy would be released. I remember telling them that a release of mercy will help usher in a movement from God.

I believe we are in a season where God is inviting only the ones who are hungry enough to press in towards his intimacy. Their authentic desires, passions and energies are spent seeking him in radical love and passion. In this open heaven atmosphere there’s a release of pure authentic worship. Gifts or rewards are being lowered for easy access and all we have to do is be so dangerous enough to grab what is clearly waiting on us. We need to develop a culture or lifestyle of pursuing God’s heart and sitting at his feet. In that we love the times of intimacy, the times of waiting on him, and times of being awestruck at his beautiful.

It seems to be something big bubbling up in Atlanta (& other cities). For about two (2) months now, I have witness and heard of dynamic life change in students (& adults) lives. Great miracles, healings, blessings and a zeal for Jesus have all been recounted. This past Sunday, I had an opportunity to witness first hand at what was going on during a worship service at 212. Students were being set free from the bondage of their minds and the negative views of their image. One of my favorite parts was the aftermath… the service ended and there was still about 50 students lingering and waiting on the Lord. The Wednesday before that we had 4 students filled with the Holy Spirit and under the presence of God. Radical worship broke out in the church and people were set free. And a week before that, I attended a renewal service at IHOP-Atlanta… all I can say that it had amazing worship and a powerful time healing/deliverance. Also, spoke to a youth pastor friend, and amazing things are happening within his youth ministry. The people are hungry!

There’s a stirring that is taking place and you don’t want to miss what is going on. Make it a priority to seek the Lord wholeheartedly as He so eagerly desires us.

1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. ~ Psalms 42:1-2a
